Because we strive to provide claims service to IPEP members, agents and employees in an equitable and timely manner, we follow these guiding principles:

  • Non-Adversarial Approach - Workers' Compensation is a no-fault benefit delivery system. We strive to gain the trust and confidence of the injured employee and family, the IPEP member, and the treating medical professional.
  • Minimize and Determine the Extent of Disability / Impairment - To the extent possible, we direct the best care available to achieve quality treatment outcomes and early return to work.
  • Early Intervention - Appropriate investigation should be undertaken to identify serious losses following receipt of the claim notice. Early recognition of a serious claim aids us in establishing the proper reserve and providing the appropriate medical care.
  • Claim Disposition - Our goal is to close the claim as soon as reasonably possible through appropriate case management and treatment plans.
  • Cost Containment - Control of costs is achieved through good communication with the claimant, IPEP member, and medical providers in a managed care environment, with early intervention and timely case management.
